Elon Musk recently unveiled the model of Optimus – the robot that Tesla corporation is creating.
Optimus made its first appearance on stage gesturing to the crowd at Tesla’s event.
Currently, this prototype is an ongoing project. During a presentation for Tesla Artificial Intelligence Day, the prototype was demonstrated to the audience. There was also a video about the robot’s abilities to carry out basic activities like transporting packages and watering flowers.
Most of the market experts have voiced doubt about Tesla’s plans to enter the robotics industry, urging it to concentrate on initiatives more closely related to its core competency of electric automobiles.
Elon Musk stressed, that it is important to create a machine that can replace a person since it is one of the hardest issues in artificial intelligence. He continued by stating that his company was integrating security features including a non-hackable button to stop the machine.
According to the company, the machines will become mass-produced, at a price slightly less than $20,000 and will be available for customers in three to five years.
