This autumn, Frédéric Malle unveiled the new scent Uncut Gem. The scent is modeled on Maurice Roucel’s unique cologne, which is defined as unrelenting, powerful, shamelessly masculine, and full of mysterious appeal.

The story behind

Malle had long adorned Roucel’s own distinctive perfume, a concoction he developed for his personal usage.

Moreover, Roucel finally decided to collaborate with Malle to develop the perfume that would become Uncut Gem after years of convincing. Maurice Roucel is a self-taught perfumer and a well-known explorer of different formulas.

The aroma they presented has a definite masculine enigma and is fascinating in its uniqueness and power.

Notes

According to the company, Maurice Roucel’s Uncut Gem is distinct from the rest of his creations since it is essentially a manly scent. In fact, it has an excess of ambrocenide – woody – amber aroma with notes of oud and light peppery overtones. This scent is a fresh-spicy amber one.

At the top are distinct, harsh notes like nutmeg, bergamot, and ginger. The leather overtone, in addition to frankincense, mask, and amber in the heart is characterized as flaming and seductive.
