Victorinox, a well-known maker of Swiss Army knives introduces technologies like flash storage for modern users. The company produced a knife equipped with a USB drive.
The device peculiarities
The “SSD”, as they call their gadget, has a storage capacity of up to 1TB. It is a standard flash drive, however with some special features.
It also has a fingerprint sensor. Moreover, if someone tries to breach the drive’s security, it burns the memory chip, avoiding data stealing. The preloaded Victorinox Secure package, includes backups, file syncing, and a password manager.
Features and pricing
The drive contains a colorless LCD that shows the accessible capacity and content. Its read and write speeds are 220MB/s and 150MB/s, correspondingly. This is roughly as fast as most USB 3.0 drives. 150MB/s on writing speed gives you approximately 1.8 hours to full the device. Considering the huge amount of data 1Tb is, it looks like a great deal.
Each drive comes with two black and red bodies. The black one has no blades and is designed for air traveling. The red one has a knife, scissors, and a screwdriver. The 1 TB model costs between $2500 and $3000 depending on specifications.
